People often need to view messages, refer to notes or lists or schedules, display pictures of loved ones, or view multiple documents simultaneously. Consequently, it is not surprising that a variety of ways exist for displaying documents, written messages, and even small photos; for example, self-adhesive
"Post-it" notes, easels, clips, and cork boards. However, each of these devices has its drawbacks. Self-adhesive
"Post-it" notes do not adhere well to the fingerprint resistant finish of a computer workstation, cannot be re-posted several times, easily drop off the monitor, and may be easily lost or misplaced. Clips are limited in the number of documents that can be simultaneously displayed. Easels take up precious desktop space and are also limited in the number of documents that can be simultaneously displayed. A paper channel tube into which documents are inserted, physically captures a portion of the document itself. This contact with the document can tear or bend documents or leave impression marks on the documents. The impressions are undesirable on photos and other important documents. Consequently, there is a need for an improved device or system for simultaneously displaying documents, photos and the like - without adhesive, pins or clips.
Dick Bennett, the original PAPER-TRACKER developer, got tired of seeing all the clutter attached to his computer monitor, and the "sticky notes" that fell to his desk. Scotch tape, Post-it-Notes® and clips held family photos, coupons, business cards and notes on his computer monitor. An invention was born to hold all these items without clips, or tape or adhesive, and allowed him to make changes to any document by withdrawing and re-inserting the item back into the display devise. As a nice by-product, Dick found he could display many more items in the same limited space than before.
PAPER-TRACKER was further developed by Corbitz, Ltd. It became apparent that PAPER-TRACKER had applications well beyond a computer monitor, which has resulted in an ever expanding product line to accommodate document display needs in a car, kitchen, bathroom, workspace and desk top.
PAPER-TRACKER holds various types of small documents one
wants to view over a period of time - notes, instructions,
lists, codes, telephone numbers, notices, pictures, sports
schedules, coupons, reminders and recipes.
PAPER-TRACKER
holds three times the number of documents in the same space
as other document holders.
Various product versions and accessories allows
PAPER-TRACKER to be used virtually anywhere - on a
computer monitor or keyboard, on a refrigerator, a microwave
or other metal equipment, on a cabinet, a shelf, on a car
dash or window or console, or on a desktop, kitchen/bath
counter or on a desk or wall telephone.
PAPER-TRACKER differentiates itself from other
document/note/picture holders:
a. Documents can be inserted and withdrawn without the need
for additional parts (pins, adhesive).
b. A single document can be withdrawn from the unit,
modified, and then replaced in the unit - can't do this with
Post-It-Notes(TM) as it loses it adhesive adhering feature.
c. User has full view of the document (nothing is hidden by
a crimping device).
d. There is no damage to the document from any crimping
device.
e. There is no mechanical device to operate to hold
documents.
f. Documents can be placed into and removed from the holder
without affecting the other documents. (Clips open and all
documents "fall out", channels open the whole
length, not just the part to receive a new document.)
g. PAPER-TRACKER can be placed at any angle, even upside
down, to display documents.
h. PAPER-TRACKER attaches to any object to display
documents.
i. PAPER-TRACKER holds three times the number of documents
in the same space as other document holders.
